People 05. Have You Met Miss Jones 06. The Girl From Ipanema 08. D. E. 09. Time and Again 10. The set concludes with a Peterson original entitled Goodbye J.D. Goodbye J.D. SACD ISO: or FLAC 2488,2 or. It features performances by Hubbard, Julian Priester, Jimmy Heath, Cedar Walton, Larry Ridley and Philly Joe Jones. Simone was in her mid-20s at the time, and still aspiring to be a classical concert pianist. She immediately sold the rights for the songs on this album to Bethlehem for 3,000 (US25,446 in 2017 dollars), with the deal eventually costing her royalty profits of more than a million dollars. It was recorded at RCA Studios New York City over October 19 (tracks 1, 5, 7), October 20 (tracks 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9) and November 19 or 20 (track 10). This album is Petersons last of his fourteen-year work with Verve. The Billboard album chart placed the disc at a peak position of 18. This ballad-oriented set puts the emphasis completely on his voice (there is no piano playing or any hint of his jazz-oriented past) and features Cole accompanied by Gordon Jenkins sweet arrangements for a string orchestra. The sets 38 tracks, many re-recorded in stereo for this anthology, offer a selection of amazing music spanning Coles career. Jenkins was unavailable at the time of the sessions, which led Sinatra back to his original arranger at Capitol, Nelson Riddle. The result is arguably his greatest ballads album.
